About Circular Economy

“A systematic approach to economic development that is restorative and regenerative by design.”

—Ellen MacArthur Foundation on what a Circular Economy is. It aims to break away from the accustomed consumption and disposal of resources and to extend a product’s lifecycle through the re-designing of business models. Its framework can possibly counterbalance the matter of the supply chain and even yield greater profitability to companies. From economic to environmental growth, economies worldwide can potentially gain from shifting into a greener and more circular value chain.

The Three Principles of a Circular Economy

Design out waste and pollution

Products are created with disassembly and reuse in mind to purposefully prevent producing waste and inducing other negative externalities.

Keep products and materials in use

Products are designed for reuse from the very beginning to ensure the product and its components remain circulating in the economy.

Regenerate natural systems

The use of renewable resources to support the production process is necessary to allow natural system preservation and revitalization.
